Heartwarming Bond: Lioness’ Decades-Long Friendship and Unbreakable Connection with Her Devoted Caregiver

October 26, 2023 by Pham Hien

Meet Valentin Gruener, a wildlife enthusiast who has a lion named Sirga with whom he has a wonderful bond.

They have such a strong bond as a couple. A TikTok video of this man and his friend, Sirga, hugging one other after a long period has gone viral.

The lion is a loving and friendly creature. The story of the lion was told to Bored Panda by Valentin Gruener.

“Despite her size, she is always gentle and polite. But I’m the only one that talks to her. It would be risky for her to be around people she isn’t used to.”

“It started ten years ago when Sirga’s mother stopped feeding her and I had to raise her on my own.”

Sirga has had a rough existence, but she is presently in excellent health.

“Sirga the lioness was born on February 25, 2012, to wild lions seized after being identified as ‘problem animals’ in livestock areas and held and cared for at Willie de Graaff’s Grassland Bushman Lodge grounds, near Ghanzi, in the Kalahari Desert of Botswana.”
