Ryan Seacrest and Mark Consuelos Team Up for Gym Session After Co-Hosting Switch

Ryan Seacrest may have moved on from his role as co-host on Live with Kelly and Ryan, but he’s still close with Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos. On Friday, February 28, Seacrest, 50, joined Consuelos, 53, for a workout at the Alo Wellness Club in Los Angeles, just months after Consuelos took over Seacrest’s hosting duties on the show.

Seacrest shared a fun Instagram post from their gym session, joking, “Ran into the only client I train 💪🏻.” The post included a video where Consuelos can be seen doing sit-ups while Seacrest appears on screen, stretching and commenting, “I’m flexible today.” The duo then shared a photo of themselves smiling and showing off their muscles. Ripa, 54, reposted the moment on her Instagram Stories, calling them “Posh Dudes in LA.”

Their bond goes beyond just co-hosting and working out together. Seacrest announced his departure from the show in February 2023, after joining the ABC daytime talk show in 2017, to return to the West Coast for American Idol live shows. Consuelos, who took over the co-hosting role in April 2023, spoke to PEOPLE about Seacrest’s thoughtful gesture when he left. Seacrest gifted him all of his furniture, along with a handwritten note and a photograph of Steve McQueen, which Consuelos planned to hang up in his office.

Seacrest’s departure from Live was met with warmth from Consuelos, who described Seacrest as supportive of the transition. “Ryan’s the best, and he’s been so supportive of this move,” Consuelos said, referring to the change as a “peaceful transfer of power.”

Ripa also noted how seamless the transition would be, explaining, “Ryan is like my — I always say he’s like my brother, but he’s also like my oldest child,” she said, adding that viewers would notice how effortlessly Consuelos fits into the role.
