Kate Hudson’s biggest critics? Her three kids.
The Running Point actress, 45, recently sat down with Kylie Kelce on the Not Gonna Lie podcast to discuss parenting, raising children in the spotlight, and the humbling moments that come with motherhood. Hudson—who shares daughter Rani, 6, and sons Bingham, 13, and Ryder, 21—revealed that her children keep a close eye on her fashion choices, sometimes offering unfiltered opinions.
“As a mom, [kids] are just very much clued into the things that you’re doing,” she explained. “Like, it could be very see-through, and they’re like, ‘No, Mom, that’s gross. What are you doing?'”
Navigating Fame with Her Children
Hudson also opened up about protecting her kids from the pressures of Hollywood.
“There are two ways to go,” she said. “If you really want to keep things private, you just make that very clear—whether it’s to the press or to a fan asking for a picture. When I’m with my kids, I don’t do that. That’s how I was raised.”
The actress, whose parents are Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, recalled that growing up, her family set boundaries when out in public.
Kate Hudson on Her Son Bingham’s Obsession with Money
During her March 4 appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Hudson shared a funny anecdote about her 13-year-old son, Bingham, whom she described as a “money guy.”
She recalled how, during a fire evacuation in Los Angeles, Bingham had only one priority: “The only thing Bing took was his cash box. That’s all he needed.”
However, the teen later ran into an unexpected problem. “He couldn’t figure out how to open it,” Hudson laughed. “And it’s been a whole thing.”
Despite the occasional fashion critiques, Hudson’s kids remain her biggest source of joy—and humor.
