‘The Traitors’ Season 3 Winners Reveal How They Spent Their Prize Money
The Faithfuls remained loyal to one another in The Traitors Season 3, splitting the $204,300 prize among the final four contestants: Dolores Catania, Dylan Efron, Ivar Mountbatten, and Gabby Windey.
“You have to live with yourself,” said Mountbatten, 61, explaining why he chose not to banish another player in the finale. “In the grand scheme of things, the money isn’t huge. What matters is how you get there, rather than the amount.”
Efron, 33, echoed the sentiment, doing some quick calculations before deciding against eliminating a fellow contestant. “If we had cut Dolores, we’d each get about $17,000 extra—after taxes, maybe $10,000. I’d rather keep my friendships.”
How the Winners Used Their Winnings
Efron put his share of the money toward upgrading his living space. “I moved out of my tiny one-bedroom studio—now I have a guest room and a dishwasher,” he joked.
Mountbatten used his winnings to help his daughter, Ella, 28, who didn’t attend university like her siblings. “She wants to get a camper van and travel, and I felt she was a bit shortchanged, so I decided to help her with that,” he shared.
Catania, 54, planned to splurge on herself but quickly changed course after her son Frankie got engaged to Nicole Perricho. “I was going to buy myself something—that’s not happening now,” The Real Housewives of New Jersey star revealed.
She also pledged part of her prize to Halfway Home animal rescue and a shelter in Paterson, N.J. “The fact that I won is my gift,” she said proudly. “I’m a f—ing winner. Get out of my way, I won The Traitors! Don’t f— with me.”
Life After The Traitors
After filming wrapped, Catania celebrated with a home-cooked meal from her mother. “I went straight from the airport to her house for spaghetti and meatballs—she had it waiting for me fresh,” she said.
Mountbatten enjoyed reuniting with his husband, James, and their dog, while Efron craved the outdoors. “We were inside a lot in Scotland, so I immediately jumped into the Pacific Ocean, got some sunshine, and hit the gym,” he shared.
Though adjusting back to real life has been bittersweet, Efron cherishes the friendships he built in the castle. “It was the experience of a lifetime,” he said.
