Sammie, a 4-month-old boxer-mix, was being cared for by Simon, a border collie who was healing from his wounds. Sammie’s paw was gently placed on Simon’s.
Even though the two dogs were rescued weeks apart from one another, Simon appeared to understand precisely what Sammie was going through following surgery at Rescue Dogs Rock NYC.
Simon and Sammie struck up a wonderful animal connection as soon as they met, according to Jackie O’Sullivan, co-founder of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, who told Bored Panda about the pair.
“He guards him well,” Sammie has endured terrible things. The unfortunate dog was shot in the head, spray painted, and dragged behind a car.
Simon frequently inquires about his young, closest friend. Sammie still has a ways to go, but Simon will soon recover and be up for adoption.
Because Sammie recently underwent surgery, “we are not sure yet [whether he will be able to recover entirely],” said O’Sullivan.
His limb can be saved, but the doctor wants two weeks to check on it. Worry about infections is most. Although he may lose one or both of his legs, we are making every effort to keep them.
