Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey expressed his excitement and gratitude after seeing Post Malone wearing his jersey during a game at MetLife Stadium. The popular artist, a lifelong Cowboys fan, attended the game to watch the Cowboys defeat the New York Giants and shared a special moment with Aubrey on the field before kickoff. During their interaction, Aubrey signed a jersey for Malone, which he described as surreal, especially considering he only joined the NFL in 2023 and has quickly risen to prominence as one of the league’s best kickers.
Aubrey revealed a personal connection, noting that his wife grew up in the same town as Post Malone, adding to the significance of the moment. He shared with Mirror U.S. Sports, “Anytime someone like that wears your jersey, it means a lot. I’m very thankful for that; he’s a great guy and fun to chat with.”
The kicker showcased his skills during the game, successfully completing a 60-yard field goal. However, he did have a rare miss late in the fourth quarter, which drew surprised reactions from teammates, including quarterback Dak Prescott, who joked, “He just wanted to give them a little bit of a cinematic end right there.”
Despite the miss, which was only the third of his NFL career, Aubrey’s overall performance has been stellar, with 48 of 51 field goals made. He is now eyeing the NFL record for the longest completed field goal, currently held by Justin Tucker at 66 yards. Aubrey matched that distance during preseason and has already kicked from 65 yards this season. He remains confident about his potential, stating, “I think 67 or 68 is reasonable, 69 is a must-have situation. And 70, if it gets back there, assess the options, but if the opportunity comes up, I think they’ll let me kick it.”
