Gavin Rossdale Spends Holidays with Jack McBrayer After Divorce—And Gets an Invoice for His ‘Presence’

Gavin Rossdale has found an unexpected holiday tradition—celebrating with 30 Rock star Jack McBrayer, who even sends him an invoice for his company.

During a March 18 appearance on Dinner’s on Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, the Bush frontman revealed that since his divorce from Gwen Stefani, McBrayer has been a regular guest at his family’s holiday gatherings.

“Since I got divorced and was raising the kids on my own, he’s come to every Christmas and Thanksgiving that I do with my kids,” Rossdale, 59, shared. “We just had him for Christmas, we had him for Thanksgiving, and the last Thanksgiving, he actually sent me an invoice—for his presence.”

A Friendship Beyond the Holidays

McBrayer, 51, has also appeared on Rossdale’s WatchFree+ cooking show, Dinner with Gavin Rossdale, alongside guests like Serena Williams, Common, and Selma Blair.

Beyond holiday dinners, McBrayer has been helping Rossdale with auditions. “I’ve been trying to get into different shows, and he’s been directing me, but I haven’t booked a single role,” Rossdale joked. “So I have to say, I think he’s a horrible director.”

Rossdale’s Focus on Family and Music

Rossdale and Stefani, who were married from 2002 to 2015, share three sons: Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. He previously told PEOPLE that he hopes to impress his kids with his music.

“I don’t want them to play my records and think, ‘What happened to my dad?'” he said while promoting The Kingdom album in 2020. “I want them to say, ‘My dad’s on fire.'”

His oldest son, Kingston, now 18, has also developed an appreciation for music. “We’re exploring different bands, both from his generation and mine,” Rossdale shared. “When he’s playing guitar, all he wants to do is wear my clothes—and somehow, he pulls it off better than me.”

Rossdale describes all three of his sons as “better versions” of himself, saying, “I gave them my strengths.”

Despite the ups and downs, Rossdale continues to balance fatherhood, music, and his growing tradition of holidays with Jack McBrayer—even if it comes with a bill.
