Gunner: The Golden Retriever met his dolphin friend Delta when he was 8 weeks old at the Florida Dolphin Research Center. Unlike other hyperactive dogs, Gunner does not run or jump, but simply stands still and watches the dolphins swim by. Attracted to Gunner’s calm demeanor, Delta, a friendly dolphin, immediately approached and even brought a toy to play with Gunner. Marie Blanton said: “When I first took Gunner to the dock I thought he would bark loudly or show excitement when he met the dolphins, but he did the opposite. Lie down and watch and he was extremely calm. This is what attracted me. get Delta’s attention.” Since that first meeting, every time Marie Blanton brought Gunner, the Delta dolphin immediately appeared on the dock with his toys.
