R&B singer Usher recently addressed the sudden disappearance of hundreds of his posts on X (formerly Twitter) following the arrest of his longtime friend Sean “Diddy” Combs. On September 22, Usher tweeted that his account had been hacked and reassured fans with a message: “Account got hacked and damn y’all ran with it! See you tonight at Intuit Dome.”
The timing of the hack raised eyebrows among fans, coinciding with Diddy’s arrest on federal charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Diddy, who has pleaded not guilty, appeared in Manhattan federal court on September 17. Prosecutors allege that he threatened and abused women to satisfy his sexual desires, forcing them into recorded sexual activities he referred to as “Freak Offs.” He was denied bail and remains in custody as he awaits trial.
Usher’s connection to Diddy dates back to the mid-Nineties, when he signed a record deal with LA Reid and was sent to live with Diddy in New York for a year. Over the years, Usher has often spoken about his experiences with Diddy, including a resurfaced 2004 interview with *Rolling Stone*, where he described Diddy’s home life as introducing him to “a totally different set of s*** – sex, specifically.” Usher noted that there were often women around, and he recounted instances where he would unexpectedly walk in on intimate situations.
In a later appearance on *The Howard Stern Show* while promoting his 2016 film *Hands of Stone*, Usher reiterated some of his earlier comments, further detailing his experiences during that time.
As the situation continues to unfold, Usher’s remarks and past experiences with Diddy are drawing renewed attention, particularly in light of the serious allegations facing the music mogul.
